The Crab Roe Pastry Hanfu set draws inspiration from Ming Dynasty painter and poet Xu Wei’s poem "On a Painting of a Crab", which begins: “Who entrusts a painting of a crab with a poem? It must be when rice ripens deep in autumn.” That harvest season sentiment is reflected throughout the design — symbolizing the joy of eating rich, seasonal crabs and picking ripe persimmons in the golden fall.

Intricate embroidery of plump crabs and round persimmons adorn the bijia vest, sleeve cuffs, and skirt hem. In Chinese culture, crabs represent wealth flowing from all directions, while persimmons symbolize good fortune and the fulfillment of wishes — making the outfit both playful and meaningful.

The base colors are a soft mix of orange and white, with accents of greenish-orange at the collar and skirt hem, adding a festive Mid-Autumn vibe. Paired with a custom embroidered crab purse, this outfit is as charming as it is culturally rich.
