The Ma Mian skirt is named for its resemblance to ancient trapezoidal pagodas. It became most popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties, worn by everyone due to its diversity and memorable symbolism. Suitable for traditional festivals, weddings, and everyday wear, it remains one of the most sought-after styles of hanfu today.

The skirt features a faded design with overlapping Song Dynasty calligraphy and cinnabar-style seals, enhanced by gradient printing that gives it a weathered, historical feel.

To make it easier for the younger generation to enjoy and adopt Han-inspired fashion, the designer has updated the traditional horse-face skirt with a comfortable elastic waistband for easy wear.

The matching modern-style top also includes thoughtful details, like a cinnabar seal-inspired embroidered patch on the chest that ties in beautifully with the skirt’s design.
