The Ma Mian skirt is named for its resemblance to ancient trapezoidal pagodas. It became most popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties, worn by everyone due to its diversity and memorable symbolism. Suitable for traditional festivals, weddings, and everyday wear, it remains one of the most sought-after styles of hanfu today.

This horse-face skirt draws inspiration from Southern Song Dynasty's Contending Birds painting, weaving the lively charm of sparrows frolicking into its hem. Simple gongbi brushwork captures vivid scenes: clusters of white camellias, mountain birds chasing in blooming flowers, mist curling over mountain streams, and butterflies fluttering as iris petals stretch like wings.  

In muted misty purple, the design exudes classical elegance. Gold threads interweave like delicate brushstrokes, shimmering where they accent the white camellias, purple irises, and butterflies—creating a romantic dreamscape that blurs softly across the skirt like a poetic reverie.
